Spot Light Freebie Mermaid

Card 1
Card 2

https://www.facebook.com/groups/MarkersPapersDigis/
Janice Collyer, the artist for Scrapper's Delights has been chosen to be a Spot Light Company on Spot Light Markers! Papers! Digis! on Facebook today. To celebrate this honor Scrapper's Delights is giving away the lovely Coral Mermaid Digi Stamp. You can go to the Scrapper's Delight store and get the background digi, with the mermaid, for a reduced price of $2.

I colored the stamped images using Prismacolor Pencils and just a bit of Recollections silver metallic pen.

For card #1, I used the Mermaid with the background available at the Scrapper's Delight shop. I placed the colored image in the Craft Artist program and merged it with an underwater background from the Water Garden digikit and for fun I added some additional bubbles. I printed the merged scene once, printed the mermaid in her shell without the background once also. I cut out the mermaid in her shell and then I cut the original colored mermaid out without the shell.  I  layered all the pieces using soft pads to form a 3D image. I glued the layers on to the white base card.

For card #2, I used the freebie available at Markers! Papers! Digis! I placed the colorful image in the Craft Artist 2 program and merged it with some elements and a background from the CS Summer Seaside digikit. I printed the merged scene one time and printed the mermaid in the circle twice. I cut around one circle and I cut the mermaid out from the second circle. I adhered the 3 layers together to form a 3D image using soft pads. I glued the layered image to blue card stock and then onto a white base card.

You will see other Design Team members' work to get more ideas. I hope the cards I created are worthy of this lovely image and the honor given to Janice. I hope you have as much fun working with this little mermaid as I have!
This stamp with a background is available in the Scrapper's Delights store for a reduced price of $2.

The mermaid  image is only free for a short time, but if you missed out check for it in the Scrapper's Delights shop!

I colored these little one using Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and then placed them in the Craft Artist 2 program, where they were merged with a background created by my husband Sandy Brooke. The background is from a photo of Flagler Beach, Florida.

I Can Read!

A Day for Daisies
The new challenge over at Crafting from the Heart is sponsored by A Day for Daisies. I chose to use I Can Read as the image for my Inspirational Design Team card. This little boy reminds me of my 6 year old grandson who loves to read!

Here are the steps I used to make my card:
1) Place the image in Craft Artist 2 and marge it with the pattern background, erasing what I could from around the outside. I used the Cut Studio to make the pattern appear on the image as pjs.

2) Print patterned image and cut around the outside edge.

3) Color the cut image with Prismacolor Pencils.

4) Print the bed (old saved digital image) and color using Derwent Inktense Pencils.

5) Merge the boy and the bed in Craft Artist 2.

6) Using background Room 1 design room with pieces from the Toybox digikit, wallpaper background and a green floor.

7) Add the sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my card and are inspired to enter the challenge at Crafting from the Heart, where anything goes.

Young Girl with Book, Copic Marker Practice

I'm loving this little girl and how she came out using my Copic Markers! This book has been a big help. I've learned to use layering with the blending of three different markers. Although I didn't have the exact colors recommended for her, the little girl looks pretty close to the published version and I'm happy with that. the digital images are really cute to work with.

The image was cut out leaving a narrow white edge and layered over two sheets of graphic 46 Playtimes Past card stock and a chipboard tag was added in the upper right corner, from the Graphic 45 An ABC Primer collection.

Come again and see what I've learned to do next time!
